Backpack Digital Media Ltd. (“Backpack”, “we”, “us”) is a performance marketing agency based in Vancouver, British Columbia. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website (backpackdigitalmedia.com), our phone calls, emails and text messages, and the services we provide to clients.

Information we collect

Information you give us: your name, business name, email address, phone number, website and any details you share through our contact forms, by phone, by email or by text.
Information about your business: publicly available information about your business, such as your Google Business Profile, website, reviews and advertising, which we use to prepare audits and proposals.
Website usage data: basic analytics such as pages visited, device and browser type, and how you reached our site, collected through cookies and similar tools.

Phone calls

We may call businesses at their publicly listed business phone numbers to introduce our services.

Call recording: calls with our team may be recorded for quality and training purposes. We tell you at the start of the call when a call is being recorded.
Do not call: if you ask us not to call again, we add your number to our internal do-not-call list right away and will not contact you by phone again.
We call during normal business hours in your time zone.

SMS / text messaging

We only send text messages to people who have given us their mobile number and agreed to receive texts from us, for example when booking a meeting with our team.

What we send: appointment confirmations and reminders, links to materials we prepared for you (such as a website mockup), and replies to your questions. We do not send promotional text blasts.
Message frequency: varies, typically 1 to 4 messages per booked meeting.
Costs: message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
Opting out: reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. You will receive one confirmation that you have been unsubscribed and no further messages.

Your mobile information is never shared or sold. We do not share, sell or rent mobile numbers or text messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

Service providers that help us run our business (for example, email, phone and texting, scheduling, website hosting, analytics and bookkeeping providers), who may use it only to provide those services to us
Advertising platforms such as Google and Meta, only when you are a client and it is needed to run your campaigns
Authorities, when required by law

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as required by law. Prospect information is deleted on request.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent to calls, emails or texts, at any time. Email iqbal@backpackdigitalmedia.com and we will respond within 30 days. You can also unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email, or reply STOP to any text.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and limit who can access it.

Our website uses cookies for basic analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.
